Congregations
We have two congregations that meet on a Sunday - one in the morning and one in the evening. Each of these take place with important things in common. On any given Sunday you will hear a bible talk, because we believe that God has spoken to us through the bible. So we are committed to teaching and listening to the bible as God's word and authority. We also believe that God wants us to bring our requests and thanks to him so there will a time of prayer. On a given Sunday we also believe that relationship with each other is important so we make time for people to get to know each other and to encourage one another.
Morning Congregation
The morning congregation meets every Sunday at 10am at Noorong Community Hall (see a map here). Our morning congregation tends to be made up mostly of families and children. We also have a growing group of Seniors coming to the morning service.
On a normal Sunday morning, what you might expect in the morning service is some singing, followed by announcements. During the announcements, there will be an invitation for kids to go to Sunday School and creche which takes place during the service. Then there will be a bible reading followed by the bible talk. This is usually followed by a time of prayer and some more singing to finish our formal time together. After this there is a morning tea that takes place. Over a cup of tea or coffee and a bite to eat, you can get to meet people in a relaxed atmosphere. While there is a collection taken for the work of the church, we do not expect visitors and newcomers to give in any way. Please feel welcome to come and meet us on a Sunday morning.
Evening Congregation
The evening congregation meets every Sunday at 6pm at Noorong Community Hall (see a map here). Our evening congregation tends to be made up mostly of secondary and tertiary students as well as young workers. Because we do not offer a Sunday School in the evenings, there are few children.
On a normal Sunday evening, what you might expect in the evening service is some singing, followed by announcements. During the announcements, there will be an invitation for kids to go to creche which takes place during the service. Then there will be a bible reading followed by the bible talk. This is usually followed by a time of prayer and some more singing to finish our formal time together. After this there is a supper that takes place. Over a cup of tea or coffee or a bite to eat, you can get to meet some people.
