What to Expect

We welcome anyone to our services and we understand that if you are new to church or just investigating Christianity for the first time, it can be a little intimidating.

For starters, wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing. Most people at the church will wear something that resembles "neat casual". You may prefer to wear a suit or a tie and please feel comfortable doing so. When you come, please collect a news sheet near the entrance to our main hall. If you have your own Bible, please feel free to bring that along . However, if you do not have one, we have Bibles available for people to use.

Our service usually lasts about an hour and 30 minutes. We sing songs, pray, and listen to a talk explaining the Bible. One Sunday each month we have the Lord's Supper (also called "Communion" in other settings). This is offered openly to all who can genuinely say that they understand that they are a sinner and in need of God's mercy and grace through Jesus to make them right with God. If a person does not understand these things or has not yet committed his/her life to Christ, then that person should simply let the bread and wine pass as they are distributed. But don't let this stop you from coming! You are definitely in the right place. Every time we have the Lord's Supper there are people who do not take it so you won't "stick out" or be singled in any way for not doing so. We only explain these thing so that people will understand how important it is to us, and so that they will not feel pressured to participate in these things before they should, and before they really understand the significance of them.

After the service is over people usually stay around for a while before heading off. So, don't be in a rush to leave but please get a cup of coffee and take the opportunity to get to know some of the other people in the church. We believe that the church is about people, not buildings, and take seriously the privilege we have of loving and serving one another. We hope that when you come you will feel welcomed as a special guest.

Finally, please know that children of all ages are welcome. In the morning, we have a creche and Sunday School staffed by parents and helpers available to help out with the little ones if you would prefer to not have them with you in the service. In the evenings, we run only a creche for pre-schoolers. All who work with children in our church are required to have cleared a police check.
